Frederick Moore, the Managing Director of Hearts of Oak, has reiterated that his outfit will be kitted by Umbro despite while shedding light on why the Phobians will be repeating jerseys from the 2019/20 season.
According to widespread reports on the local scene, the Phobians have had their contracts with Umbro terminated due to the Accra-based club’s inability to meet certain requirements in the contract.
However the top brass of Ghana’s oldest exisiting football club has moved to debunk such reports. In an interview with Kumasi FM, Frederick Moore shed light on the relationship between the club and their kit sponsors.
“We are wearing Umbro and we will continue to wear Umbro.I have been in constant talk with them to strengthen the relationship and even make it better,” he stressed.
Mr. Moore took time to explain why the record holders of the Ghanaian FA Cup will be using the same kit designs for the upcoming season.
“We are using the same jersey, it was not just one given to us.In terms of actual, it is not the exact one we wore that we will still use because we have other pairs,”
He continued: “It will be unfair on our supporters that they’ve bought this magnificent and high quality jersey and they will have to dump it after using it for half a season so it was on balance we took the view to re-use the jersey but in terms of the actual jersey they wore that’s not the same they will use this season because we have extra pairs.”
The Phobians will head to Dormaa to square off against two-time Ghana Premier League winners Aduana Stars on opening day.
