The president of the Ghana Badminton Association, Evans Yeboah has revealed plans of the association in the coming years.
In an exclusive interview with Ghsportsnews.com, Mr Yeboah confirmed that they are working on a four year development plan which will see the growth of Badminton in every corner of the nation.
“We are focusing on our four year development plan. We have secured sponsorship about $200,000 of equipment which will given to schools and community clubs across the country to be able to grow our sports”
“We have grown our coaches from 23 in 2017 to 167
We have grown our technical officiating to about 47 in total now with 4 of them officiating at world competition.
So we are looking are extending it to schools and communities of the country”
When asked about government’s support to the association, Mr Evans said;
“I think we have not been too dependant on the gov’t because usually you will not get the support you need so we have fall on corporate bodies and other board members and executive.”
“If government comes on board, yes but primarily, we are looking at things at more holistic view of corporate partnership”, he added.
