Hearts of oak have failed to land a major silverware since their last league triumph in 2009 and it stretches to a further 15 years since they last tasted success on the continent while their last FA Cup came two decades ago.
Following the easing of restrictions by the government on contact sports, clubs have moved in swiftly to put their house in order. Ahead of the forthcoming season which kick starts in November an optimistic Fatawu Mohammed has set a high target of ending the Phobian trophy drought.
“The ultimate is to win silverware next season and, we are leaving no stone unturned in making sure that the team will be ready to go when the opening whistle sounds,” Fatawu told Hearts Media.
His comments were re-echoed by striker Abednego Tetteh who said, “we cannot wait for the start of the new campaign as we want to repay the club for the faith, they have shown in us.”
Players of the Rainbow club started gym work last Friday and has continued with beach work as Coach Edward Odoom puts his players through their paces to shape them up for the start of the 2020/21 football season.
