The second 2020 Bicycle / Riding Show in Accra, now dubbed ‘Okor Okpe’ Festival has been hailed as very successful as it started and ended well
Over 180 riders from all walks of life took off from the Ussher Fort (Shatta Beach) and rode to Osu to Ridge through Accra Central to Bukom, Korle Gonno to Chorkor, Mamprobi, Korle Bu and back to the starting point.
The programme attracted boys and girls as well as men and women, and some of the riders displayed with different types of bicycles.
According to the organisers, Otto Von Cofie of Tune Africa, he was very glad and hoped for more events to involve the youth especially.
African Sports Media was represented by country manager Sammy Heywood Okine and members of the Gamashie Network as well as James Town TV were there to support.
The theme for the 2020 edition was – Cycling for a peaceful election.
Von Nii Otto Cofie urged all political and social leaders to ensure that there is a free and fair election. He advised the youth not to allow themselves to be used for violence deeds by politicians.
Sammy Heywood Okine expressed joy that the distance covered three constituencies, namely Odododiodoo, Korle Klottey and Ablekuma South, where many people saw them and heard the message.
