Accra Hearts of Oak Head Coach Kosta Papic has revealed that winning the CAF Champions League for the Phobians was the rationale behind him returning to the club.
He made these comments when speaking to Kumasi based Fox FM.
The 60-year-old, who has worked with over ten clubs in Africa, previously worked with the Phobians in the 2008/09 season, the last time they won the Ghana Premier League title.
He left Hearts of Oak with seven games to the end of the season in 2009 while leading the league log by ten points, for reasons he described as coaching interference which led to his resignation.
According to him, he was motivated to rejoin the Ghanaian giant to win the Ghana Premier League and proceed to the CAF Champions League to represent Ghana and win laurels for the club.
“What made me to come back to Hearts of Oak was to win the league and possibly the CAF Champions League. I believe the team has the capacity to do that and we are working on it, it is not easy but we are going to fight for it “He said
The Phobians are now 7th on the league table with 8 points out of six games played so far.
