Head coach of Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs, Ernest Thompson has intimated his side is better than most of the teams in the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
Coach Quartey, who was appointed as the head coach of the club, following the resignation of Robert Assibu, is fast carving a niche for himself as tough-talking tactician.
He has been hogging the headlines occasionally for his dauntless speeches in reference to officiating which has seen him appearing before the Ethics Committee of the Ghana Football Association.
Despite his Mourinho-esque approach in interviews and pressers, the results of his side in the eight-game-old Ghana Premier League has given him away as a man who is more of words and less of action.
However, the tactician in his latest interview believes Ebusua Dwarfs is among the best clubs in the country’s top division.
“We are focused and going to remain in the league. We are going to finish in a good position before the close of the league. We are playing quality football, tactically disciplined and technically we are better than most of the teams in the league” Ernest Thompson told OTEC FM.
Ernest Thompson Quartey further assured the faithfuls of the Crabs his side will be in good standing before the end of the first round.
“We believe before the first round ends, our fans will see the team in a comfortable position which will prepare us for the second round of the league” he ended.
Meanwhile, Dwarfs, who fell to a two-nil defeat to Dreams FC are agonizingly perched a spot above the drop zone with eight points out of a possible 21 – winning two, drawing the same number of games and losing on three occasions.
Coach Thompson will hope to turn the tides in favour of his team when they play as guests to Dansoman based Liberty Professionals – who lost to Asante Kotoko – on match day nine.
