Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday showed class at the Accra sports stadium as they romped to a 2-0 win against Techiman Eleven Wonders in their Ghana Premier League match day nine encounter.

The win takes the Phobians’ impressive run to 4 wins in their last 6 games and now unbeaten in their last four outings, moving 4th in the League table, just two points adrift leaders Karela United who won on Sunday.

Experienced defender Nuru Sulley returned to the starting line-up to partner Mohammed Alhassan in central defence.

Hearts dominated proceedings from the early part of the exchanges and it paid off in the 11th minute when Manaf Umar opened the scoring as he connected perfectly a cross from Fatawu Mohammed inside the box and the low grounder beat Eleven Wonders goalkeeper John Moosi.

Eleven Wonders nearly snatched the equalizer five minutes from half time when Samuel Boakye went through two defenders before pulling the trigger but Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richmond Ayi produced a super save to palm it away for a corner kick.

Before half time, Frederick Ansah-Botcwey tried his luck from distance but it was a rising effort.

Three minutes into the second half, Victor Aidoo fired in a powerful shot with the outside of his foot to beat Moosie for the second time in the game.

Hearts of Oak brought on Patrick Razak and Abednego Tetteh in the latter stages of the game. The latter tried his lucky from outside the box but his effort was cushioned by a deflection on Tetteh Nortey.

Moosie had to be alert on his line to coolly collect Afutu’s header on a floated ball from Fatawu Mohammed. Wonders tried to come back into the game but they looked disjointed in midfield and toothless in attack.

It was second successive away defeat for the Techiman Eleven Wonders as they lost 1-0 to Inter Allies at the same venue last week.
