CHOOSE ONE; ‘Sell your shares, step down or face demonstration’ – Hearts of Oak supporters angrily gives board chairman an ultimatum
Angry Hearts of Oak supporters has threatened to stage demonstration against club board chairman Togbe Afede XIV in the coming weeks.
Kosta Papic announced his decision to resign as Hearts of Oak coach early this week just after 78 days in charge.
The two parties agreed to part company after barely three months of association. It was the coach’s second stint with Hearts, the first spell in 2009 also ending unceremoniously.
Speaking to Atinka Fm, Former NCC P.R.O, Paa Kofi Sumsum said, the supporters of Hearts of Oak will stage a demonstration against the board chairman if he doesn’t sell his majority shares in the club or step down.
“Togbe Afede XIV has been the board chairman for 11 years now and nothing good is happening to the club, there’s a bad spirit hunting the club due to how the club was handed to Togbe as majority shareholder,” Paa Kofi Sumsum said in an interview.
“A demonstration won’t be good for his brand as a chief at all because the angry supporters will rain insults on him through placards writings, so I will advise him to step down now.” – He Added.
Hearts are the second most successful club in the history of the Premier League, having won the title on 19 occasions. They were Caf Champions League winners in 2000, Caf Super Cup victors in 2001 and Caf Confederation Cup champions in 2004.
