Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Poku took off sometime on his WhatsApp status on Wednesday to bid farewell to players, technical team and supporters as he heads to Algerian outfit USM Alger after a year stint at the club.
The forward completed his transfer from Kotoko to the Algerian-based club on Wednesday. In his write-up, he was grateful for the exposure, love and support he had at Kotoko.
The versatile player joined Kotoko from Nkoranza Warriors on a three-year deal. He won the hearts of the fans with his exploits in his first season with the club.
The 21-year-old has been a key member of the Asante Kotoko since he joined in February 2020.
He becomes the second GPL goal king contender to join the Algerian League, after former WAFA goal poacher Daniel Lomotey joined ES Setif earlier this year.
Poku also showed his gratitude to the Asante Kotoko fans for their unflinching support during his year spell at the Kumasi giants.
