Organisers of the Annual Sheikh Osman Sharubutu Ramadan cup has postponed the 6th edition to another week following extensive consultation with stakeholders of the tournament.
The 6th edition of the competition was billed for the weekend of May 14 and 15 but a last minute consultative meeting with participating communities agreed to push the tournament that brings together Zongo communities from across the country to one stage to another week.
A statement from the Organizers of the tournament read :
“Stakeholders of the Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan Cup have agreed to reschedule the 6th edition from this weekend to next weekend May 22 and 23”.
“The rescheduling offers the 24 participating Zongo communities more time to adequately prepare for the tournament”.
“We look forward to an exciting tournament at the Sheikh Sharubutu Sports Complex at New Fadama, Accra, next week, in shaa Allah”.
24 Zongo Communities will battle for the coveted trophy to be handed by his eminence Sheikh Osman Sharubutu, the National chief Imam of Ghana, and for the first time, Zongo communities from the Eastern, Central and Volta regions will take part in the competition.
