England manager Gareth Southgate is trying to convince Callum Hudson-Odoi to rescind his decision from switching nationality to Ghana.
According to a report by the Telegraph, Southgate, despite leaving out the player in recent call-ups have made efforts to persuade him from committing his allegiance to Ghana.
Odoi is reportedly keen on committing his international future to Ghana by playing for the Black Stars.
The 21-year-old who has already been capped twice stands a chance to play for Ghana should he avoid another cap from the three lions before November 2022, a little over a year from now.
The Chelsea man was in Ghana for holidays and received lots of love from his native country, getting the opportunity to meet the President Akufo Addo who asked him to consider playing for Ghana.
After the meeting with the President, the former England U17 star has since remain adamant to represent his birth country (England), rejecting a call-up to the U21’s.
It now looks more likely he could make the move to play for the four-time Africa Champions.
Officials of the Ghana Football Association are believed to have kept contact with the player and also expressed interest in having him play for the National team.
But with Southgate aware of the player’s future potentials, he is said to be doing everything possible to persuade the winger to stay-put with the English National team.
