Newly-signed Hearts of Oak defender Samuel Inkoom made his competitive debut for the Phobians against his former side Asante Kotoko in the Super Clash on Sunday.
Inkoom was announced as the club’s latest addition 24 hours prior to the biggest league fixture in the Ghana Premier League – Asante Kotoko vs Hearts of Oak dubbed the Super Clash.
The 32-year-old right-back made his debut from the bench and was finally introduced as a substitute with Hearts chasing the game.
He replaced attacking midfielder Gladson Awako three minutes after the half-hour mark but his introduction did little to change the destiny of the match as Inkoom’s former side run away with the three points and the bragging rights as well.
Inkoom had an indifferent outing on his debut with his usually good crosses occasionally going wayward.
Aside from the defeat on his debut for Hearts, Inkoom also received boos from the Kotoko supporters – who deemed his move to the capital as a betrayal after he made a name on the domestic scene with the Porcupine Warriors.
