There was a major upset in Kumasi on Saturday at Paa Joe Sports Stadium (KNUST) as Pablo Foundation Edwin Gadayi beat Solomon Hammond to win the men’s 100m race in the Ashanti zone of the GNPC Ghana Fastest Human in a time of 9.84 sec.
Janet Mensah also won the female race in the 100 metres in a time of 11.50 sec beating Doris Mensah of KNUST who finished second with a time of 11.86 sec.
In the boys Under- 18 category, William Opare of GHANASS won the race in 10.70 sec, followed by OKESS Isaac Sarfo with a time of 10.89 sec and Dennis Amoah of TI AMASS finished 3rd with a time of 10.90 sec in that order.
Christian Amanda of St Louis SHS won the under – race in 12.20 sec ahead of Rebecca Agyei of GSHS.
In under -15 competition, Nyandi Mensah Wisdom of KNUST picked the first position in 11.65 sec followed by Mubarak Tahiru of Kintampo JSH 11.92 sec.
For the girls “event” it was Veronica Taskitry of GSHS who finished first in 12.66 sec, leaving Dorca Asiamah of Arrows club (12.96 sec)
All winners received fantastic prizes from the sponsors.
