Italian-born forward Godberg Barry Cooper has expressed his readiness to represent Ghana at the national team level.
Born in Bergamo, Italy, to Ghanaian parents, Godberg was eligible to represent either Italy or Ghana.
But it appears, that the 24-year-old forward has decided on Qatar-bound Black Stars at the senior national team level.
Opening up about his decision, Cooper hopes his move to Romania could inspire a call-up to the Black Stars.
“I made this choice also and above all to have the right visibility and the possibility of being part of the Ghanaian national team because I want to honour my country of origin.
“And who knows, maybe the call for the World Cup will come and we will meet again in Qatar.”
The Black Stars, who will be making their fourth appearance at the World Cup, have received a massive boost following the nationality switches of Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey and Spanish-born forward Inaki Williams.
