47th SWAG Awards Full Winners; Mohammed Kudus wins ultimate, Juliet Bawuah named Journalist of the year and many more
The 47th edition of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards was held on Saturday night, January 28, 2023 at the Accra International Conference Centre to honour sports personalities who performed incredibly well in the year under review.
Black Stars Golden Boy Mohammed Kudus scooped two awards after clinching the ultimate accolade thus the Personality of the year and the best Footballer of the year award.
Ajax Amsterdam and Black Stars midfielder was honored for his performance for both hid club and National team in 2022 which included scoring twice at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies Ladies after outstandingly winning the Women’s Premier League and the women’s FA Cup have been tipped as the team of the year with their Striker Ophelia Amponsah winning the best female footballer award.
After leading the Black Galaxies to qualified to the 2022 CHAN tournament and winning the MTN FA with Hearts of Oak, Daniel Afriyie Bernieh was adjusted the best home – based Footballer of the year.
Abraham Mensah, who also won a silver medal in the Bantamweight division at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, won the prize for the Amateur Boxer of the Year at the awards ceremony.
