Hearts of Oak’s real threat upfront, Patrick Razak has picked up a hip injury and thus will miss the club’s game against Eleven Wonders on Friday, May 21.
Razak although has less than 5 goals this season but his dangerous runs on either the left or right side of attack coupled with his dribbling abilities and teasing square balls into the box makes him the first man to keep a close eye on for opponents.
Unfortunately for the Phobians, the speedster will be absent in Friday’s tie at the Ohene Ameyaw Park.
Here are two formations head coach Samuel Boadu is likely to choose between due to Patrick Razak’s absence.
1. Maintain the usual 4-3-3
4-3-3 is Samuel Boadu’s most used system since assuming Hearts of Oak managerial role in March this year.
The three up front has seen chances in personnel in some games but Victor Aidoo and Patrick Razak has been literally the constant figures.
Hence, Aidoo definitely will get the nod in tomorrow’s game alongside Kojo Obeng Junior who has started the last three games.
In Razak’s absence, Boadu can automatically slot in Daniel Afriyie who the manager has been rotating in the front three.
Possible lineup in the 4-3-3 shape
Richard Attah; Fatawu Mohammed, Mohammed Alhassan, Robert Addo Sowah, Raddy Ovouka; Emmanuel Nettey, Benjamin Afutu, Ibrahim Salifu; Daniel Afriyie, Kojo Obeng Junior, Victor Aidoo
2. 4-4-2 diamond (4-1-2-1-2)
Hearts of Oak would want to avoid a defeat in the away fixture even if the day turn out to be worse.
The Phobians are just two points behind league leaders Asante Kotoko, a win for the latter in that regard takes the gap to 5 points.
Hence, setting the team out in a 4–4-2 diamond shape could go a long away in getting the much needed win or a point in Techiman.
With Razak missing, sacrificing wing play to penetrating narrow with numbers in the middle will be the idea.
Manaf Umar in the right side of the midfield, Nettey at the base, Afutu on the left side with Ibrahim Salifu in a typical playmaker position, just behind Victor Aidoo and Kojo Obeng Jnr.
4-1-2-1-2 line up
Richard Attah; Fatawu Mohammed, Mohammed Alhassan, Robert Addo Sowah, Raddy Ovouka; Emmanuel Nettey; Benjamin Afutu, Manaf Umar; Ibrahim Salifu; Kojo Obeng Junior, Victor Aidoo.
