Multifaceted sports journalist Richard Achore successfully passed-out as an officer of the Ghana Immigration Service on Monday, May 30, 2022.
Richard, a sports journalist who doubles as a Venue Match Officer in the Ghana Premier League, was part of the historic batch that graduated from the Tepa Training School.
A member of the 28th intake at the newly instituted Tepa Training School, Richard and his fellow recruits were commissioned at a passing out ceremony at the Tepa Training School.
A total of Two thousand and seventeen recruits with 201 from the Tepa Training School have successfully been transformed from civilians into functional members of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) following their admission on May 29, 2022.
Richard and his fellow recruits went through six-months of para-military training, three months at Assin Fosu, and completing the second phase of training at Tepa.
He also took part in the passing-out parade, where the new recruits including Richard Achore were sworn in by the Commanding Officer of Training School, Assistant Commissioner of Immigration (ACI) Mary Owusu.
The ISTS was established in 1998 and commissioned in 2001 to offer professional training of officers in the Service following the conversion of the erstwhile Immigration Department under the Ministry of the Interior into a Security Service by PNDC Law 226 and subsequently Immigration Service Act, 2016 (ACT 908).
