Brazil star Neymar Junior took to his social media accounts to congratulate his longtime friend Lionel Messi following Argentina’s World Cup win in Qatar. Messi led his side to their first World Cup trophy since 1986 with an entertaining game at the Lusail Stadium.
It was a game that lived up to its billing with Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe and Messi bringing their A-game to the party. Messi scored twice while Mbappe grabbed a hattrick to force the game to penalty shootouts where Emi Martinez starred with one save .

Fans were quick to note that he did not write a condoling message for Mbappe who despite his heroics was on the losing side on the night.
It should be remembered that Neymar and Mbappe had some alleged ego wars in Paris at the start of the season. The two stars were said not to see eye to eye with Mbappe reportedly advocating for Neymar’s sale.
Neymar’s Brazil were knocked out of the World Cup in the quarterfinal stage by Croatia despite being one of the frontrunners for the title. Had they beaten Croatia, Neymar could have faced Messi in the semifinals. The three stars are now expected back in Paris soon as the French giants continue with their pursuit of a first-ever Champions League trophy.
The French side knew that one of their stars would return with the trophy, but they never imagined that the final would be such an epic battle between their two stars. Kylian Mbappe scored a hat-trick in the game and converted a penalty in the shootout, while Lionel Messi scored two goals and also scored in the shootout.
