Women’s football in Ghana is steadily on the rise and is gaining more ground and coverage with each passing day and season. • • Ampem Darkoa Ladies: Ampem Darkoa Ladies F.C. is a Ghanaian professional women’s football club based in Techiman in the Bono East Region of Ghana. The club features in the Ghana Women’s Premier League (GWPL).

 

• The club was formed in 2009. It was one of the foundational clubs for the maiden GWPL season in 2012–13. It is currently the 2nd most successful women’s club in Ghana after winning the Women’s League on 2 different occasions against Hasaacas Ladies who have won it 4 times.

 

• • Berry Ladies Football Club: Berry Ladies Football Club is a Ghanaian professional women’s football club based in Accra in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. The club features in the Ghana Women is Premier League and plays the Women’s FA Cup as well. The club was previously known as Halifax Ladies Football Club or as Halifax Soccer Academy Ladies until 2020 when the club was taken over by a new management board led by Dr. Gifty Oware-Aboagye. The name of the club was then changed to Berry Ladies.

 

 

• The club was relocated from Nungua to Madina still within the Greater Accra Region. The Club is one of the youngest most successful clubs in Ghana known for selling its players to top European and African Clubs, giving opportunities and the needed platforms for its female athletes. They are also the first team to Digitalise their fan base in an European standard, most vibrant on social media platforms and they are recognized as unique among other clubs according to most female sports analysts and websites.

 

• Pearl Pia Ladies F.C.: Pearl Pia Ladies F.C. is a Ghanaian professional women’s football club based in Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana.

• The club features in the Ghana Women’s Premier League. Peal Pia was founded in the Northern region of Ghana as a women’s club with a focus on player development and education. The club has a rivalry with Northern Ladies Football Club, as the two teams are located in the Tamale in the Northern Region.

 

• Faith Ladies Football Club: Faith Ladies F.C. is a Ghanaian professional women’s football club based in Dansoman in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. The club features in the Ghana Women’s Premier League (GWPL).

• The club was formed in 2004 and plays their home matches at the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman. In 2021, the club won the Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA) Women’s Division One League Zone A to qualify for the Regional Women’s Zonal playoff and champions of champions (championship final for the GARFA Women’s League). They won the championship final against Army Ladies and won the Regional Women’s Zonal playoff for the Southern Zone to qualify for the Ghana Women’s Premier League for the first time in the club’s history. Prior to the start of their first top flight season, the club appointed Edna Quagraine as the club’s head coach. In their debut season (2021–22 season) in the GWPL, they placed second in the Southern Zone behind Hasaacas Ladies. Their second-place finish earned them qualification into the Ghana Women’s Super Cup. On 25 September 2022, they won the 2022 Ghana Women’s Super Cup defeating the League Champions, Ampem Darkoa by 3–1 in the final
