DOL Transfer Update: Haruna Salim Reunites with Coach Kwabena Amissah at Newly Promoted Port City FC
Haruna Salim, the talented Ghanaian footballer known for his physical strength and versatility, has officially joined Port City Football Club, the newly promoted Division One side based in Kukurantumi.
The 21-year-old right-back, who can also play as a center-back, has signed a two-year contract with the club, marking an exciting new chapter in his burgeoning career.
Salim, affectionately nicknamed “King Beco,” first made a name for himself at Panthers FC, where he began his professional career in 2020 at the tender age of 17.
His exceptional performance on the field soon caught the attention of Tudu Mighty Jet, and he made the switch in 2021. Under the guidance of Coach Orlando Wellington, Salim’s abilities flourished, earning him the prestigious Player of the Season award for the 2021-22 season.
In 2022, Salim moved to Nations FC in Abrankese, Kumasi, where he continued to impress under the leadership of Coach Kwabena Amissah. His contributions were instrumental in helping Nations FC secure promotion from the National Division One Zone 2 to the Ghana Premier League in the 2022-23 season.
Known for his pace, robust tackling, precise crosses, and discipline on the pitch, Salim has established himself as a key player in any team he joins.
The upcoming season will see Salim reunite with Coach Kwabena Amissah, who now leads Port City FC. The pair’s successful partnership at Nations FC has set high expectations for their collaboration at Port City.
As the club embarks on its first season in Division One, the experience, and skill set of Haruna Salim are expected to be pivotal to their campaign.
Salim, a former student of University Practice Senior High School (UPSHS) in Cape Coast, expressed his excitement about the move and the opportunity to work with Coach Amissah again. “Joining Port City FC is a new challenge that I am ready to embrace.
I have great respect for Coach Amissah and what we achieved together at Nations FC. I’m looking forward to replicating that success here at Port City,” he said.
Port City FC’s fans are eager to see their new signing in action, hopeful that his presence will bolster the team’s defense as they navigate the competitive landscape of Division One football.
With Salim’s track record and the proven leadership of Coach Amissah, Port City FC could be a team to watch in the upcoming season.
