The second matchday of the Ghana Premier League saw some exciting matches over the weekend, with some surprising results and thrilling finishes.
On Saturday, Medeama SC’s young star Kamaradini Mamudu scored the only goal of the game to give his team a 1-0 win over Legon Cities.
Sunday’s matches saw some major upsets, with Hearts of Oak losing their second game of the season, this time away to Kpando Hearts of Lions. The Lions’ 22-year-old forward Nana Oppong broke the deadlock in the 83rd minute, before 17-year-old midfielder Ishmael Addo doubled the lead in the 87th minute, securing a 2-0 win for the home team. This loss will surely be a cause for worry for Hearts of Oak fans.
In other results, Berekum Chelsea won 1-0 at home against Karela United, thanks to a goal from Affriyie Meshack in the 11th minute of the first half.
Three matches ended in goalless draws: Bechem United vs Aduana Stars, Basake Holy Stars vs Dreams FC, and Young Apostles vs Nations FC. Two other games were postponed.
