A goalpost struck and injured Black Stars goalkeeper Joseph Wollacott in training at Baba Yara Sports Stadium
Ghana national team goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott suffered an injury during a training session with the Black Stars in Kumasi on Tuesday evening.
The mishap occurred when a goalpost fell on the Charlton Athletic stopper during training at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Tuesday.
Wollacott, who recently recovered from a broken injury that kept him out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, was helped up by the medical team before limping off the pitch.
The 26-year-old will undergo a scan to determine the extent of his injury ahead of the upcoming double-header against Angola.
Ghana, who secured four points from their previous two matches, including a 3-0 triumph over Madagascar and a 1-1 draw with the Central African Republic in June of last year, are currently tied for first place in Group E.
The first game will take place on March 23 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, with the second leg scheduled for March 27 in Luanda.
