Sports enthusiast and brand specialiat Mrs Gifty Oware-Mensah has been appointed as the Marketing Director for the 2023 Para African Games slated for Accra.
Mrs. Oware-Mensah was part of the 10-member Local Organization Committee (LOC) that was inaugurated by the Minister for Youth and Sports Hon. Mustapha Ussif on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the headquarters of the African Paralympic Committee (AfPC) Secretariat in Accra.
Below are the members of the LOC sworn in by the Sports Minsiter for the continental games;
The competition will commence on September 3, 2023 with forty-eight (48) African Countries.
The African Paralympic Committee is poised to deliver the ‘Stand Alone Multi-Sport Para Events for Athletes, which doubles as qualification for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.
The historic first African Para Games will involve Amputee Football, Para Athletics, Para Powerlifting, Goal ball, Sitting Volleyball, Wheelchair Basketball and Wheelchair Tennis.
36 African countries will compete in the event slated for Accra later this year.
The detailed list include Ghana, Gambia, Cameroon, Senegal, Egypt, Cape Verde, Mali, Guinea, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique, Benin Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Eritrea, Burundi, South Africa, Comoros, Nigeria, Sao Tome, Burundi, Cote d’Ivoire, Libya, Botswana, Gabon, Sudan, Rwanda, Liberia, Togo, Kenya, Uganda, Morocco and Central African Republic have confirmed participation.
