Ryan Schupe and the Rubberband’s all time classic, Dream big song is incontestable when it comes to inspirational songs and it appears Hearts of Oak midfield dynamo Benjamin Afutu has taken a cue from the aforementioned classic.
Afutu, who admires Black Stars and Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Teye Partey, has outlined his dream of featuring for Italian giants, Juventus and playing in the UEFA Champions League – the most coveted club Competition on the face of the earth.
The Italian top flight has been one of the hottest hubs (destinations) for most Ghanaian players with Mohammed Gago, Samuel Osei Kuffour, Stephen Appiah, Sulley Muntari, Kwadwo Asamoah, Agyemang Badu et al just to mention a few Ghanaian players to have played in the Serie A.
And the hardworking midfielder wants to follow in that great tradition whiles aiming at playing for none other than La Vecchia Signora (Old Ladies) i.e. Juventus.
He disclosed this in an interview with Accra-based Angel 102.9 FM.
“The player I admire most is Thomas Partey. My dream is to play for Juventus and participate in the UEFA Champions League.”
