Anthony Boakye of the River Park Cycling Club in the Brong Ahafo beat 62 other cyclists in a 97.5km criterium to win the 2022 National Tour Du Ghana event at Ablekuma Olebu.
Anthony Boakye once again established his dominance in Cycling as the best rider on the rankings at the moment.
Boakye earned a cash prize of GHS 5,000 and products from Cowbell after winning the overall Best by Time and the best by Points with the yellow jersey and Green Jersey respectively.
The National Tour Du Ghana was a five day event which started from 7th July and ended 11th July, 2022.
The National Tour Du Ghana spanned across five regions, Winneba in the Central Region, Suhum and Larteh ,both in the Eastern Region, Sogakope in the Volta Region the Greater Accra Region.
On the first day, cyclists rode from Accra to Winneba, then directed to Suhum in the second day. The third day Saw the team through the Larteh hills and back to Accra. The fourth day was 156km race to Sogakope into Ada with the final stage indie the township of Ablekuma Olebu.
Notable sponsors included Promasidor Gh producers of cowbell products, BIC producers of BIC Pens and shavers Riyard Constructions, dealers in housing projects, S-Sports and Liteblue events.
CEO of Spatarial construction &Heritage Kevin Solomon Oduro presented a cash prize of Gh2000 to the officials of the event and has promised to cater for the riders’insurance in the next edition.
The Ghana Cycling Federation is billed to represent the country in the upcoming Commonwealth Games in the UK next month and these road exercises are worthy of description and commendation ahead of the Games.
