Asante Kotoko Sporting Club is the only Ghanaian side ranked in the top 50 clubs in Africa as North Africans giants remain firmly and literally at the pinnacle of the continent.
According to FootballDataBase’s quarterly ranking report, record eight-time champions Al Ahly top the standings ahead of Tunisian giants Esperance.
Five-time champions league and two-time Confederation Cup Congolese winners, TP Mazembe, proudly maintain their place in the third position, while 2020 Champions League finalist Zamalek and 2016 champions Sundowns sit fourth and fifth respectively.
With the exception of TP Mazembe and Sundowns, the top 10 features eight clubs from North Africa.
Asante Kotoko is the highest-ranked Ghanaian side, who are in 33rd after climbing one place up.
The Porcupines are followed by AshantiGold who are ranked 51st after moving one place up. Aduana Stars have dropped from 73rd to 76th whereas their regional rivals Berekum Chelsea have also moved from 76th to 86th position. Hearts of Oak maintained their place at the 92nd position.
