The Black Stars have been dealt a big blow as the 20-year-old pacey winger has suffered a fresh ankle injury in training.
Ghana international Kamaldeen Sulemana is in a race against time to be fit for his debut World Cup experience which starts later this month in Qatar.
Sulemana was left out of Stade Rennes squad that shared spoils with AEK Larnaca in the final Europa League group game on Thursday night.
Speaking after the game, head coach of Rennes Bruno Genesio confirmed the Ghanaian was injured and he is hoping the player is fit before the World Cup.
“He had pain in his ankle yesterday [Wednesday], he was injured. I hope for him that he will be fine for the World Cup.”
Sulemana has been struggling with injuries since last season after spending almost three months in the treatment room.
He has featured in 14 games this season for Stade Rennes and has scored one goal whilst providing two assists in the process.
