After missing out from the medal zone in singles and team events at the on-going African Games in Accra, the Black Loopers have reorganised themselves and put up a splendid performance in the round of 64 in the mixed doubles competition.
Each mixed doubles pair from team Ghana swept aside their opponents in devastating fashion winning 3-0 in their respective matches.
Sensational pair of Israel Aklie and Juanita Borteye beat Zambian pair of Charles Banda and Latifa Nalavwe 3-0 (11-4, 11-6 and 11-2).
Samuel Akayade and Eva Adom-Amankwaa beat Angolan pair of Valdemar Cassanga and Nelma Moises 3-0 (11-2, 11-7, and 11-5).
Bernard Joe Sam and Celia Baah-Danso won 3-0 (11-7, 12-10 and 11-7) against Peter Muturi and Doreen Juma of Kenya.
Wrapping up the win for team Ghana with another 3-0 victory was the pair of Emmanuel Commey and Cynthia Kwabi. They beat the pair of Arnaud Kekessi and Habibou Derra of Burundi 11-3, 11-4 and 11-6.
With their qualification to the round of 32, the mixed doubles pair would hope to improve upon their performances and win a first medal for Ghana.
