Asante Kotoko right back Christopher Nettey has revealed excitement after reveling in his first game for the senior team of Ghana.
The defender was handed a late call by Ghana coach C.K Akonnor for the double header AFCON qualifiers against Sudan, and made his debut on Thursday as the Black Stars defeated the East Africans 2-0.
Nettey, who started and was later replaced by Nicholas Opoku insists it all fell like a dream as he was filled with emotions playing for his country.
“It was like a dream, it was kind of weird, but I think I handled it quite well. It has been an emotional period and the best period of my life,” he said. “I will never forget this,” he added.
“There were some nervy moments because it was one of the biggest, if not the biggest game of my career. But, the senior players told me to enjoy myself, and I did.”
Christopher Nettey seized the opportunity on his debut, producing a confident performance and could start when the team travels to Sudan for the second leg in Omdurman.
