Jafaru Rahama may have hogged the headlines after fine performances, but another new girl also stands tall; she is Comfort Yeboah
Comfort Yeboah has made big impressions since arriving from Unick Ladies, and even won Player of a match (MVP) against Essiam Socrates Ladies in our last encounter.
Coach Freeman Amponsah has been very impressed with the centre back’s quick adaption to life at Berry Ladies Football Club.
“We saw qualities in her that is exactly what we wanted,” he said. “But then you move her from a division to premier league, to adapt to a new way of playing as well… [but] she has done it really quickly and is showing great mentality as well.
“We threw her in against tough teams [on the opening day] after three or four training sessions and you could see the performance she had there.”
Coach Freeman was also delighted with Elizabeth Ayebea and Regina Donkor’s dominance at the back during matches and the way they work together at the back with Comfort Yeboah and Martha Appiah is just amazing.
“I am really impressed,” he said. “They look really confident, they grab games in most difficult periods, they take responsibility, these three are really comfortable on the ball, making a lot of right decisions, strong in challenges in every transitional moment.”
