Head coach of Ashantigold SC, Thomas Duah has intimated he is capable of leading the Obuasi-based outfit to continental assignments.
The former Black Stars striker has been in the dugout for the Elephants since the nicodemus exit of French coach Romain Folz and has managed to sturdy the ship of the Yellow and Blacks leading them to the finals of the MTN FA Cup.
Despite being linked with match fixing, Thomas Duah and his charges have soldiered on outclassing Kintampo Top Talents and Berekum Chelsea in thw quarterfinals and semifinals respectively to seal a berth in the oldest football competition in Ghana.
With the club on the cusp of returning to Africa and the club’s voluminous appetite for foreign managers, Thomas Duah is unfazed by the situation and has stressed he is capable of leading tothe 1993 CAF Champions League finalists back to continental assignments.
“We’ve automatically qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup. Coaches are hired to be fired so bringing in a new foreign coach is not my issue but I can say emphatically that I’m capable of leading AshGold to Africa,” Duah told Kumasi-based radio station OTEC FM.
Duah will hope to see off reigning Ghana Premier League champions Hearts of Oak on Sunday in what promises to be a titanic affair to crown an eventful season.
