Ghana’s Deborah Acquah has booked her spot in the final of the women’s long jump at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The 26-year old who only got her visa to England, 48 hours ago, was still in good condition as she topped her qualifying group B with a jump of 6.85 meters to progress to the final.
She finished ahead of England’s Jazmin Sawyers (6.80) and Nigeria’s Ese Brume(6.81).
Acquah cleared the qualifying time in her first attempt, with the mark set at 6.75m.
Her jump was the best among all the qualifying groups.
The Women’s long jump final will take place on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 6:05pm.
