EXCLUSIVE:Details Of MTN FA Cup Official Draw Confirmed, 110 Clubs To Participate In 2021 Edition
The 2020/21 MTN FA Cup Competition will officially kick off second week of May 2021 with only third tier sides participating in the preliminary round of the competition at the regional levels before division One clubs join the party in the round of the competition according to Ghsportsnews.com reports.
The Organizers of the annual Event are considering grouping clubs into the 16 political Districts instead of the 10 Football Regions to further reduce traveling time, cost and facilitate more local derbies for the preliminary stages Matches.
The Preliminary Stage matches for MTN FA Cup competition is scheduled for Friday 14th May to Thursday 20th May at Venues to be communicated after the live Draw on Tuesday 4th May 2021.
In all 110 Clubs – 18 PLCs, 48 DOLCs and 44 Division Two Clubs from RFAs are participating in the MTN FA Cup 2020/2021 Season.
Live Draw involving the 48 DOLCs and 44 Division Two Clubs will be done at Star Times TV Studio on Tuesday 4th May from 3:00 PM.
The grand launch for the MTN 2020)2021 Season will be part of R64 live Draw from MTN Offices in Accra.
The Preliminary Draw will be a studio event with Committee Members and GFA staff.
Snippets of information reaching Ghsportsnews.com indicated that, the Organizers will be introducing an innovation called “MTN FA Cup Star Boy Project”. All participating clubs are to submit two U-18 players to feature in this seasons FA Cup Competition.
