Fatawu Mohammed says goodbye to Hearts of Oak with an emotional farewell message

Hearts of Oak captain Fatawu Mohammed has announced his departure from the one-time CAF Champions League winners with an emotional farewell message.

The defender has bid farewell to Hearts of Oak after been officially released by the the club yesterday.

The 30-year-old joined Hearts in 2013 from Real Tamale United and has since been an important player in the team having contributed to the successes across the period.

He helped the Ghanaian giants to a league title in the 2020-21 season which they had not won since 2008 and two FA Cups but lost his position in recent times, forcing the club to let him go.

He also served as captain of the club since 2018 but he was stripped of the captaincy when Serbian trainer Slavko Matic took over the head coach position after the exit of Samuel Boadu.

Fatawu Mohammed during his time as a Phobian player earned himself a call-up to the Ghana national team and has four caps to his credit.

“I want to say a very big thanks to Allah.
I want to use this plat form to say a very big thanks to TOGBE Board Chairman of the great Accra Hearts of Oak SC, may Allah blessings and protection be with you always and may Allah bless you long life,good health and more of everything you are praying for. You took me as your son and I will always be greatful to you Dad.

Another big thanks goes to all my coaches, the technical team and my team mates for the support they gave me during the good and bad times. I wish you all the best of luck as my journey end here with you guys.

I can’t forget the most wonderful and Greatful fans of the team, your reward will comes from Allah for the love and support you gave me from the onset. May Allah bless all.

Coaches will Come and Go
Players will Come and Go
but Accra Hearts of Oak will remain till Infinity.

Again I want to knell down and ask for your forgiveness again.”
