During his first spell with the Phobians, the fans roared the name of Benjamin Afutu with unadulterated love. It wasn’t just his goals and assists that endeared him to the fans but his defensive abilities on and off the ball that made him a fan favourite.
The combative midfielder left the Phobians to joined Egyptian side, Eastern Company SC on a four year deal after leaving Hearts of Oak as a free agent in 2021 but his move became a nightmare as he failed to nail down a regular spot in the team and he terminated his contract just after six months and he is currently in Ghana.
Benjamin Afutu enjoyed a great 2020/21 season with Hearts of Oak. The midfielder featured in 32 games for the Phobians in all competitions, scoring 7 goals and provided 4 assists.
Afutu as well as helped Hearts of Oak win the 2020/21 GPL and the MTN FA cup, completing the double for a 6th unprecedented time. A feat which has earned him a call-up to the Black Stars B.

– He add goals to his game, that’s an exceptional quality and a plus for the team in attack. He contributed 8 goals in the last stint with the club and his goals pushed the club to the domestic triumph two seasons ago.
– Benjamin Afutu is experienced and he knows the current team than any other DM we might opt for. Afutu will not cost Hearts of Oak much at since he is a free agent.
