Erstwhile Black Queens forward Gifty Ayew Asare has attained the FIFA Youth Coaching Certificate.
Gifty received her certificate after a five-day residential course organised by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in collaboration with the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) which was held at the GFA Technical Centre of the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, Prampram.
Gifty, who was named Ayew owing to the similarities of his playing style to the legendary Abedi Pele, is now the assistant 2 coach for Division One League side, FC Epiphany. Gifty Ayew Asare hold License D coaching certificate from the Ghana Football Association.
She was part of the twenty -five Youth Coaches who were selected from across the Regions, the Premier League, Division One League and Women’s Premier League clubs .
Gifty Ayew Asare, who also holds CAF License D Coaching Certificate, had an decent playing career, having featured for top clubs including, Samaria Ladies FC, Blessed Ladies FC, Lady Maverick FC in USA, Dayton Dutch Lions FC and most recently FC Epiphany Warriors in Ghana
About Gifty Ayew Asare
Gifty Ayew Asare (born 9 June, 1998) is a Ghanaian footballer who’s comes from from Assin Asamankese in central region.
She attended the Assin Manso Senior High school, proceeded to the Asuanse Technical Institute, and then the Blessed Tutorial College. She also attended the Northern Oklahoma College studying Health, Physical Education and Recreation.
Gifty started her football career playing for PSK Soccer Queens Academy in Komenda. She joined Bafana Ladies (now Sea Lions FC) from 2011 to 2013 Before moving to Samaria Ladies in Lapaz.
She later joined Blessed Ladies FC in the Ghana Women’s Premier League in the 2014/15 season.
In 2016, she gained a scholarship to further her education at the Northern Oklahoma College, where she played for the school’s Women Soccer team, Lady Maverick FC and won the Most Valuable Player Award in 2017.
She was aslo shortlisted for the All- American Third Team in their 2017 NJCAA Division One Women’s League.
Gifty Ayew recently joined Ghana women’s division one side FC Epiphany Warriors in 2021/22 season as their captain, and now as the club administrator and the assistant 2 coach for the club.
In 2017, she became the first professional footballer to take part in the Miss Ghana USA.
In 2014, she was assigned her first national duty to play for the Black Maidens ahead of the U-17 World cup hosted in Costa Rica but did not make the cut.
In 2017, she was called up by then Black Queens head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani for an international friendly against France after she scored 27 goals in 19 matches for Northern Oklahoma College’s Lady Maverick FC Soccer team.
In 2018, Coach Mercy Tagoe invited Gifty Ayew Asare into her squad but she picked up her first knee injury and she wouldn’t make it.
