Gotham FC announce the signing of Dreamz Ladies FC and Black Princesses captain Stella Nyamekye
Gotham FC have made an exciting addition to their roster by signing Ghanaian youngster Stella Nyamekye from Dreamz Ladies FC, a powerhouse in the Ghana Women’s Premier League.
Known for her remarkable vision, agility, and precision in the midfield, Nyamekye has been a standout performer in Ghana and is set to bring her exceptional skills to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
This move marks a significant milestone in Nyamekye’s career, as she transitions from Ghanaian football to the global stage of the NWSL.
Her three-year contract, running through 2027 with a mutual option for 2028, reflects Gotham’s confidence in her potential to make a lasting impact.
While the transfer fee remains undisclosed, it’s clear that the club has made a strategic investment in her talent and future.
“Stella is an exciting player and her ceiling is very high,” said Gotham FC General Manager and Head of Soccer Operations Yael Averbuch West.
“Her success this past year has been fantastic and we are happy to have her here in NJ/NY.”
The Ghana captain was instrumental in this year’s FIFA Women’s U20 World Cup in Colombia, where she scored twice and assisted another and won one MVP award.
Nyamekye earned a nomination for the CAF Women’s Young Player of the Year Award.
