The Cape Coast edition of the 2021 Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Ghana’s Fastest Human ended on Saturday 20th, March 2021, with all the best sprinters from the breadth and width of the Nation competing for personal glories and also to pave way for their qualification to the National Team ahead of the Tokyo Olympics Games.
The 2020 edition was cancelled mid- way due to the outbreak of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic after successfully hosting the Tamale Open Meet and the Cape Coast Open Meet.
The GNPC Ghana’s Fastest Human drew participation from athletes competing in both the U18 and Senior categories respectively.
Grace Obuor of the University of Ghana (UG), Legon and 2019 African Games bronze medalist was given a hot challenge in the Women’s 100 final by Kate Agyeman of the GFH Speedsters Club as they both ran 12. 30 secs. to place first and second respectively. Janet Mensah of the Ashanti Region was third in 12. 49 seconds.
Sarfo Ansah representing UDS won the Men’s 100 meters dash in 10.83 secs. with Barnabas Aggerh also of UDS coming second in 10.94 secs and Isaac Botsio of the University of Ghana (UG) taking the third position in 10.97 secs.
In the U-18 Boys category, Sherifa Abdul Razak from Central Region ran 11.18 seconds to place first ahead of Dennis Amponsah from Ashanti region who Completed the race with a time of 11.19 seconds.
In the Female U-18, Benedicta Kwartemaa from Ashanti region picked the first position with a time of 12.45 seconds while Agnes Dufie ran 12.87 seconds to beat Nasira Quansah from Central region for the second position.

The next GNPC Ghana’s Fastest Human train is set to hit Accra on April 10th, 2021. All the best sprinters in the capital will come on board to see who qualifies to represent Ghana at the Tokyo Olymics Games.
