Hasaacas Ladies edge ASFAR Club In Tensed Game To Reach The Maiden Edition Of The CAF Women’s Champions League
Ghanaian club Hasaacas Ladies secured their place in the final of the CAF Women’s Champions League after beating Moroccan side AS FAR in the semi final of the competition on Monday.
The Ghanaian champions became the first club to reach the final of the maiden competition which is taking place in Cairo, Egypt.
Attacking Midfielder Doris Boaduwaa shot Hasaacas Ladies into the lead in the 34th minute with a good finish but AS FAR pulled level on the brink of the halftime break.
After the break, Hasaacas had an opportunity to restore their lead after Veronica Appiah was played through but the midfielder’s shot was off target.
The Ghanaian champions were handed a penalty by the 63rd minute but Perpetual Agyekum saw her effort off the upright.
But with the game seemingly heading to extra time, Evelyn Badu proved her importance once more in the competition.
The teenage forward latched a well-measured cross from Boaduwaa to head home the match winner.
The goal marked Badu’s fifth goal of the competition, putting her in a pole position to win the tournamrnt golden boot.
Hasaacas Ladies will take on the winner between Mamelodi Sundowns FC and Malabo Kings FC in the finals.
