Hearts are coming out of crisis – Samuel Boadu Reflects On Dreams Stalemate

Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Samuel Boadu has admitted the club is in some sort of crisis.

The defending league champions put up a drab performance to draw 2-2 against 10-man Dreams FC in week 10 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League at the Dawu Park on Saturday.

Forward, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh made a beautiful turn outside Dreams FC’s goal area and struck hard to put the Phobians ahead on the 28th minute.

The “Still Believe” Boys however responded with a minute to the break after Hearts goalkeeper, Richmond Ayi failed to deal with an aerial ball for Ibrahim Issah to easily tap in the equalizer.

Back from recess, Dreams FC took the lead through debutant, Ishmael Dede who capitalized on a through pass to beat Richmond Ayi on the 81st minute.

The record FA Cup holders were lucky to fetch the leveler in added time when substitute, Salim Adams scored a trademark drive to peg the entire game at 2-2.

Hearts of Oak coach, Samuel Boadu admits the club is in crisis of which they are picking up from.

“As you can see, Dreams FC is a good team, we played good.

Hearts of too we are in a crisis so we have decided to pick it up but it’s not easy coming up but we do what it takes to come up,” Samuel Boadu said at the post match press conference.
“In all what I can say is, it’s a 50-50 balls, chances that they got , they scored and chances that we got we scored.

“I’m not disappointed because Hearts of Oak also lost players due to injury but we managed them to play on the field.

“You could see that some of them are managed, they are forcing to play and it also affected us.” Samuel Boadu added.

The Phobians recently returned from a botched continental campaign where they exited the CAF Confederation Cup in a 4-2 aggregate against Algeria club, Jeunesse Sportive de Saoura.

Notwithstanding their uninspiring performance against Dreams FC in week 10, they have played four matches in all competitions in the last seven days but are yet to lose.

They defeated Elmina Sharks 1-0 in week eight, went past neighbors, Accra Lions 2-0 and 1-0 in week nine and the FA Cup round 64 in Cape Coast Stadium and the Carl Reindorf Park respectively.

The 2-2 draw at Dreams FC gives them 10 points from seven games with three outstanding games against Berekum Chelsea, Asante Kotoko and Medeama.

Their week eleven clash is against former Champions, Berekum Chelsea at home on Wednesday December 29.
