Halifax ladies midfielder, Monica Addai has revealed her desire to play in the newly suggested CAF Women’s Champions League which is set to be discussed by the continent’s ruling body as part of its development strategy on women’s football on the continent.
Speaking to Theresa Yeboah, the talented midfielder applauded CAF’s decision and believes it will be a great move for players on the continent especially Ghanaian talents.
“I was really happy when I heard of the initiative.
I think its a great idea because it will help our footballing career to reach another level.
It was always a great feeling watching the men play on the continental stage.
Whenever you win the league in Ghana, it ends here unlike Europe where you qualify to play in the Champions League.
We are praying things will go through for us to showcase what we have in us”,she added.
Monica featured in all the matches for Halifax Ladies in the first round of the Women’s Premier League with a goal in Halifax’s 2-1 lost to Hasaacas Ladies in match day 7 at the Tema Sports Stadium.
She also won the Nasco Player of the Match in week 4 against Police Ladies at the McDan Park.
