Asante Kotoko on Sunday became the first club to defeat Karela United at their home grounds Crosby Awuah Memorial Park at Anyinase since joining the Premier League in 2016.
Smith led the Porcupines to beat Karela at the CAM Park 2-0 in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League matchweek 13 fixture on Sunday.
Karela prior to yesterday’s game, Karela had gone 65-matches without a defeat, recording 62 wins and 3 draws.
Speaking to Westgold radio in Takoradi after the game, Johnson Smith revealed that he told his players to tune their minds on pulling down their opponent’s excellent home record for him.

After the win, Asante Kotoko have amassed 23 points to go top of the Ghana Premier League ladder.
