Ghana Premier League giants, Asante Kotoko are set to offer former Black Stars coach, Kwesi Appiah, the Technical Director role at the club.
According to the information gathered by Ghanasports.com, Kwesi Appiah will be meeting the board to discuss the way forward for Asante Kotoko and if everything goes through, he will be offered the Technical Director role where he will be in charge of the club’s recruitment and academy.
He could be appointed before the start of the new season as the Ghana Premier League is in limbo due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The nine-member board of directors led by Dr. Kwame Kyei as the chairman have been tasked by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to focus on Kotoko’s youth academy and develop its own brand of football which used to be toast of other clubs on the continent.
Kwesi Appiah played his entire senior career club football for Kumasi Asante Kotoko for a decade between 1983 and 1993 after joining from Prestea Mine stars and won 7 league titles with the Procupine Warriors.
Kwesi Appiah, fondly known as Mayele remains an iconic name in the history of Asante Kotoko SC.
