The President of the Ghana Council of the Boys Brigade, Lawyer. Moses Foh Amoaning, the Chief Executive of the Global Fellowship of the United Kingdom, Mr. Bill Stevenson and other leaders of the Boys Brigade in Ghana called on the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon Mustapha Ussif (MP) on Wednesday 16th August, 2023 at the conference room of the Ministry.
The focus of their discussion included the critical role that the Boys Brigade play in the development of the youth in Ghana and to inform the Minister about the opportunity for hosting the next Global Fellowship Council Conference in Ghana, which is slated for 2025.
Receiving the delegation, the Minister warmly welcomed them to his office and indicated that he was fully aware of the role that they play in shaping the youth by imbibing the spirit of patriotism, building their confidence and instilling discipline.
He noted that the youth form a large percentage of Ghana’s population which has brought about a herculean task of enacting policies to channel the great potential they possess.
He cited the issue of extremists who are engaging the youth in the Sahel region of Ghana for all kinds of social vices adding that the Boys Brigade could extend their activities to the area to conscientise them on the need to use their energy and time for profitable activities.
The President of the Ghana Council of the Boys Brigade expressed his gratitude to the Minister for taking time out of his busy schedule to interact with them.
He then took the opportunity to invite the Minister to grace the finals of the football gala they had organized for the youth which will be held on 2nd September, 2023.
