Former Ghana Black Star captain Asamoah Gyan was honoured with the Continental Icon Award at the 8th EMY Africa Awards on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
The event took place at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Centre, and saw Gyan recognized for his outstanding contributions to African football and his philanthropic work.
Gyan is one of the most successful African footballers of all time. He is the all-time leading scorer for the Ghana national team with 51 goals, and he has also played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Sunderland, Udinese, and Marseille.
Gyan is also a successful businessman and philanthropist. He is the founder of the Asamoah Gyan Foundation, which works to support children and youth in Ghana.
The EMY Africa Awards are an annual event that celebrates the achievements of men and women who have made significant contributions to society in various fields, including business, entertainment, and sports.
The awards are organized by the Exclusive Men’s Club International, a non-profit organization that promotes the development of men and boys in Africa.
