Turkey based Ghanaian center back Daniel Amartey has rubbished media reports that he has blacklisted Ghana’s football ecosystem after losing his place in the National Team to Mohammed Salisu.
The Ghanaian center back denied any such position because he was a team player ready to help the Black Stars anytime he is called upon.
A media publication suggested that the former Leicester City FC center back unfollowed any media handle related to Ghana football and also deleted all content of Ghana football from his social media.
Speaking on the wrong publication made by the malicious Media, Amartey said, “I was surprised at seeing the comments and allegations levelled against me. How can I unfollow handles and delete content from my handles. In any case football is a team and if you are not selected but you have to support the team. The team spirit within the Black Stars is more than any individual and I will be the last player to put myself before the team. I am ready to play just like any of my colleagues why will I have to make wild allegations that we conceded because I didn’t play? Didn’t the Black Stars concede goals when I play? I will officially respond after the championship but for now I am focused on the team as a player just like any other player”.
Ghana lost the opening match to Cape Verde before playing a thrilling 2-2 against the Pharaohs of Egypt.
A win for the Black Stars against Mozambique will see Ghana through into the last 16 of the AFCON.
