Malta Guinness WPL: Berry Ladies FC pick up confidence -boosting third straight win of the season against Ridge City FC
In a keenly contested afternoon of excellent display at the Madina Astro turf, Berry Ladies FC defeated Ridge City Women club 4-1 on Matchweek 9 of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League on Saturday.
From the blast of the whistle, we saw Berry Ladies announced their presence with some amazing rans on the flanks and it’s came as no surprise when Maybel Amoyaw converted a beautiful sport kick to give the Berry Ladies the lead on the 15″ but Celestina Boye got the equalizer in the 24th minute mark through a spot kick.
The first half of the game ended 1-1.
The second half started with both teams fighting in search of goals but got all efforts cut of defense of both teams.
Jafaru Rahama restored the lead for Berry Ladies on the 65 minute with a close – range dribble and finish and Portia Sakyiwaa fired in a third goal in the the 73rd minute of the game.
Priscilla Agyemang long rang shot on the 77th minute increased the tally to make it 4-1 in favor of Berry Ladies.
Berry Ladies are now unbeaten in three games. And they are yet to lose a game under their new head coach, Freeman Amponsah.
Berry Ladies are now 4th on the league table with 13 points and will face league leaders Hasaacas Ladies who has lost a 1-0 to Faith Ladies.
Berry Ladies forward Jafaru Rahama was voted as the Most Valuable player of the game.
