Match Report: Medeama SC 1-0 Hearts of Oak- Justice Blay’s Lone Goal Enough To Silence Harmless Phobia

Two-time Ghanaian FA Cup winners Medeama SC pipped capital-based outfit Hearts of Oak SC by a lone goal in the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League week twelve clash at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa on Thursday afternoon.

A second half solitary strike from midfield genius Justice Blay was more than enough for the Mauves and Yellow to nail their Phobian counterparts to the cross.

The two sides cancelled each other out in the first stanza of the game with chances few and far between as the half ended in a goalless stalemate.

Poised to change the fate of the game the home side probed endlessly and five minutes after recess, Medeama were awarded a free-kick on the left side of attack and Agyenim Boateng’s cross was buried by Justice Blay – which proved to be the decider and difference between the two sides.

The Phobians failed to arrest their three-game winless run and fell to their second successive defeat for the first time this season in the topfligt.

Medeama on the other hand got their third successive home win this season to move above the Phobians on the league table and will travel to Techiman to play as guests to King Faisal FC, who lost to Great Olympics on match day twelve, in their next game.
