Asante Kotoko’s winless run in the Ghana Premier League continued as they suffered defeat to Nsoatreman FC on Thursday evening.
The Porcupine Warriors fell to a 2-1 defeat at the Baba Yara Stadium with Maxwell Kondau’s side scoring a late winner in the game.
Nsoatreman opened the scoring in Kumasi after 23 minutes as former Hearts of Oak midfielder Abdul Manaf Umar scored to put his side ahead.
Despite a late first-half equaliser from midfielder Shadrack Addo, assisted by Enock Morrison, Kotoko failed to maintain momentum.
In a cruel twist, Nsoatreman secured victory in stoppage time with a decisive goal from Mohammed Abdul Rahaman, leaving Kotoko reeling from their sixth consecutive winless match.
This streak represents the team’s longest drought in the past decade, exacerbating their challenges.
With 33 points from 25 matches, Kotoko currently languish in the 10th position on the league standings, while Nsoatreman rise to fifth place.
