Benab FC head coach, Abu Adams expresses displeasure and has attributed their defeat to giants Asante Kotoko to what he described as bad officiating.

Maxwell Agyemang scored at the death of the game to seal the win for Asante Kotoko in their 2-1 win over Benab FC in the MTN FA Cup Round of 32 on Saturday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The ‘Everything by God’ side despite exhibiting a five star display, ended up losing painfully by 1-2 to the Ghanaian champions last Saturday night at the Baba Yara Stadium to bow out of the league cup.

Speaking to StarTimes after the game, Abu Adams fumed at officiating and believes it was the main reason for their loss but added he was very pleased with the performance of his lads. He said;

I’m not happy because the officiating wasn’t good for us. It was a bad officiating and it seems they’re favouring Kotoko to score us.”

“We couldn’t defend the last corner kick cos my boys lost concentration at that time but for me, they played well. I’m happy with the way my boys played, they did that to my satisfaction but I’m only annoyed with officiating. You indicated five minutes additional time but we played eight.”

Ishau Alhassan’s own goal gave Kotoko the lead at half time but Umar Mohammed subsequently equalised before Maxwell Agyemang scored at the death to seal the victory.

Kotoko will wait for the opponent in the Round of 16.
